Whenever I forget to go grocery shopping, which I admit is often, I almost always have the stuff to whip up a smoothie. As long as I have some type of milk, some kind of protein and any variety of frozen fruit, I can pull it off. Somehow, they always seem to hit the spot and fill me up.

My Protein Banana Berry Smoothie is one of my favs

Here’s how I make it:

1/2 Cup Silk Almond Milk

1/2 Cup Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt

1 Scoop Tone It Up Vanilla Protein Powder

1/2 Cup Frozen Mixed Berry Blend (Strawberries, Cherries, Blueberries)

1 Medium Frozen Banana (I cut and freeze this myself)

1/2 TSP Organic Honey

1/2 TSP Organic Chia Seeds

Tossing the ingredients in the blender in any order will work for this recipe. If you want to be extra, start with the fruit, spoon in the yogurt, toss in the powder, top with milk, pulse the blender then turn it on to liquify for a good minute. Once it’s in the bowl, stir in your chia and drizzle with honey.

Once you get the hang of it, skip dirtying the extra dishes and just eyeball it as you dump the ingredients into the blender.

Tone It Up Protein

I like the Tone It Up supplement. Despite havIng slightly less protein compared to other powders, it has no added sugars, minimal fat and a good amount of iron (something I personally really struggle to get enough of)

Taking the recipe on the road? Double the Silk milk. It only adds an extra 18 calories and 1.5 grams of total fat.

If you have kiddos, read this article first. A new study has been released suggesting most children should not drink plant based milk products.

Swapping Silk for Skim Milk will lower the fat and up the protein. However, keep in mind with cows’ milk you’re also upping the carbs and sugars.

Numbers aside, I think this is a great tasting, healthy smoothie that you’ll love

If you gave it a try, let me know and don’t forget to share your favorite recipe. I’m always looking to shake up my smoothie routine!
