Holiday Fashion: 2022 trends from Macy's include trendy styles in velvet, sequins and faux fur

Sparkling sterling suit set by Calvin Klein

The holidays are here, and for many of us, we’re looking for extra-fabulous outfits after spending the last few years at home in our Santa onesies and monochrome sweatsuits.

Macy’s at Somerset Collection in Troy, Mich. hosted a fashion show highlighting luxe looks and trendy accessories that would look great at any holiday party, dinner or family gathering.

Each model was styled by Latrice Delgado-Macon, also recognized for her royal title of Mrs. Michigan.

The looks were finished with makeup by Dior Beauty, featuring their prestige skincare line and new holiday makeup collections.

In comparison to recent years past, this season isn’t thinking about comfort. instead, we’re dressing to impress (and sparkle) with head-to-toe glamourous details, and they were all PREVALENT in the fashion show.

Up first, a sparkling sterling look by Calvin Klein. The two-piece velvet suit is sold separately. Each piece features shiny silver buttons. Latrice paired the set with a sequin-covered blouse. I love how this can easily transition from an office party to an after-hours event. Eye-catching and classy.

A holiday wardrobe is never complete without a tartan plaid, and I am loving how it’s incorporated into this men’s tux.

The man who wears this suit is confident, stylish and trendy.

Pair it with smoking loafers and a tie for a full luxe look or wear it with an elevated tee and designer sneakers for street style.

Next up, velvet blazers paired with coordinating velvet joggers. it’s a complete update to the classic holiday suit.

The best part? It allows you to show off those killer shoes.

Latrice styled this set two ways: the black set features the classic-cut blazer over a sequined tee. The deep teal set features the same joggers but this time paired with a more slim-fit, tie-wait jacket. I think this could be sexed up a little with a peek of lace lingerie.

I wish you could see this look in motion. The movement of the midi pleated skit is captivating, the sequins on this jacket are dazzling and the sweater is cozy yet elevated. This outfit could work for ANY holiday scenario and each piece is so exquisite on its own.

My least favorite outfit we’re highlighting from the show is the green leather look by xxx paired with the bright pink faux fur tote by DKNY. The look was so trendy and the model rocked it. For me, if just missed the mark, I tend to lean more traditional during the holidays.

Last, but certainly not least, is the jaw-dropping shimmering suit.

The material, the black piping, the model… could this look get any better?! I don’t think so.

While this may not become your most worn item in your wardrobe, it’s sure to be your most loved and most memorable.

What did I wear to the fashion show?

I, of course, wanted to wear items from Dior and Macy’s.

Starting with the makeup, I wore (now discontinued) AirFlash Foundation in 2CR, Dior Backstage Rosy Glow blush, Diorshow Maximizer 3D mascara primer, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara in black, Dior Addict Stellar Halo Shine 667 Pink Star lipstick. The look was finished with Urban Decay eyeshadow and KVD Tattoo eyeliner.

As for the outfit… [pause for dramatic effect] …

Just look at this bomber jacket. I actually gasped when I found it. It’s the authentic promotional jacket used for the Dior Poison Girl ad campaigns. It’s luxe, it’s cheeky, it’s black & pink… it’s the perfect addition to my wardrobe and my life.

I paired the pièce de résistance with a vintage Macy’s houndstooth pleated skirt, and VInce Camuto moto boots. Chic yet sassy.

That’s a wrap on the Macy’s & Dior Beauty Holiday Fashion Show.

It was such a great girls night out with my college bestie Stephanie Piette.

Thanks so much for following along. Be sure to let me know if you grab any of the pieces here… or if you know of another fabulous event.

xx
